Mr. Hatt lrk was born at Seaforth, Ont. He came out west to Carberry, in 1592. Not long after, he started farming around Brookdale. About 1898, he moved to a home- stead in the Osprey district, where he farmed for forty years. In 1897 he married Margaret Montgomery, of the Neepawa district, who died In 1905. In 1009 he married Isabelle Habkirk, of Ontario, who pre- deceased him in 1941. He worked willingly for his community, being Reeve of Langford at one time and president of the local Agricultural Society from 1924 to 1929. In 1935 3m moved to Neepawa, where he lived until his death. Here he served on the Boards of the United church and Neepawa hospital for many years. He belong- ed to both the Oddfellows and Masonic lodges, having been e charter member of the Neepawa branch of the former and holding their twenty -flue year jewel. He was also chairman of the I. 0. 0. F., Trustee Board, The funeral took place Sunday afternoon from United church, Rev. G. F. Dyker officiating, The pallbear- ers were S. Carr, J. Batters, James Hall, Harvey Thomson, R. Burns and 13. F. Davidson. Burial took place iu Riversile cemetery. Deceased is survived by three sons: Gordon, Olds, Alta.; Maurice, Neepawa; and James, Red Deer, Alta.; one daughter, Mrs. S. Sea- born, Neepawa, and nine grand- children.
