, Builder Dies
(Calgary Paper)
Had Been Resident Of
Calgary For 33 Years
George Ross Stubbs, 79, died at
his residence, 1334, 12th Ave. W.,
Sunday following a brief illness.
Born in Belgrave, Ont., he had
been In. Calgary a3,ye.ers. He was a
building contractor and was instru-
mental in building many homes
that are now part of the new resi-
dential area of Calgary.
His wife, 'Caroline, died in March
1941. He is survived by two daugh-
ters, Mrs. L. A. HMI -IMOD, Lock-
wood, .Saes]., and Mrs. R. I. Baker,
Coaldale.
Mr. Stubbs was a member of Wes-
ley :United Church and was able in
his lifetime to render that Church
many signal services. He has been
a member of Wesley Church since
1910 and has been chairman of the
Property Committee of tke church
for many years. The only things
that kept Mr. Stubbs away from the
church were 'either illuese. or ab-
scence froin 'the city. Ile will be
missed greatly and his place will be
hard to fill.
Services were conducted in Wes-
ley church Thursday at p.m. by
Rev. J. R. Morden.

48-35. It was round about eighteen

received word of the death in Van-

was solemnized in St- John's Angli-
can Church, Brussels, at three -thirty
o'clock on Satsrday. afternoon. Nov.
21st, Rev. M. F, Oldham, rector of
the church, officiated.
The bride wore a street length.
gown of pale blue sheer and carried
a bouquet of carnations and mums.
Mrs. Clifford Alcock, in a dress of
Pink sheer, was her sister's attend-
ant and Orville G. Storey, brother of
the groom, was 'pest man.
A wedding supper was served at
the home of the brides parents.
The young couple will live in Col•
lingwood where Mr. Storey has a
