The funeral of William Wilton
took place Prom his late home on
William street at two o'clock ,on
Weduesclay afternoon under the
auspices of the St. Jehnis Masonic
Lodge with interment in Brussels
.cemetery. Mr. Wilton, who was in
his 79th year, passed away at his
home here on Monday evening. He
was born, and liven this entire- life,

wife. who was •formnerly Margaret
MoMartin and one (brother Samuel,
also of Brussels,
Successful Bingo
And Dance
A large number front Brussels and
community supported the '.Bingo
and Daiwa sponsored by the local
branch of the Canadian Legion and
held in the Town Hall last Wednes-
day evening, The Bingo games
were well patronized during the
entire evening, Dancing to the
music o•f Brown's ' orchestra was
thoroughly endeyed and everyone
revolted a good time. The proceeds
to be used to .send boxes of GIn'ist-
lnas things to our overseas boys,
were gratifying and .the entire
evening's entertalnanent was voted
"good .fun" and most successful,

meeting at St. John's Rectory on
Wednesday, October 7. Mere was

in Walton Community Hall, amount-
ing to $30:00, has been donated to
the Brussels Legion to be added to
the Overseas Christmas Parcel Fund.
The dance was held Friday night,
under the: auspices of the Hall
Oommittte, This is nurch appreciated
by the local legion.
Anniversary Services
Melville Presbyterian Church,
'brussels, will hold Anniversary Ser-
vices en: Sunday, October the 13th
at 11 rem. and 7 p.m, The Rev.
Hugh Jack of Seaforth will preach at
both these services. There will also
be special music. A hearty invita-
tion is extended to members and
friends and all who are interested, to
be present at these special service.
Tag Day for the Blind
Saturday, is Tag Day for the
Bilud—and see to it that everyone
buys a Tag. These people are blind
from no fault of their own, a good
many of them are Vetera s of the
last war.

On Thursday, Oct, 8, the - officers
of the Literary Society were elected
at the Continuation School, Every-
one had an enjoyable time voting
with ,lean McDonald being elected
President and Harris Bell Vice-
President, Margaret Gibson is the
new secretary and Graffham Scott the
treasurer, Josephine VanNorman is
editor and Jean Spelran the pianist.
Ruth Wilson was, made assistant
pianist and Irvine Dunn the school
reporter.
The Executive cf the Literary
Society met later and decided to
hold a meeting in the near future,

WEDDING

The United church here was the
scene of a lovely October wedding at
4,00 o'clock Saturday afternoon when
Mary :Grace Davison, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Davison, became
the bride of Mr, John W. Bryans, son
of Mr. and Mrs. D. Bryans, all of
Brussels, Rev. Hugh D. Wilson
officiated at the ceremony which
took place amid an attractive ar-
rangement of chrysantheanunls and
autumn foliage. Mrs. Howard Davis-
on, Dundalk, presided at the organ
and played the Bridal Chorus from
Loheogidn as processional and also
accompanied the soloist, Mss Idella
Blyeus, Brussels, who sang "My
World" during the signing of the
register. The bride, given in mar
tinge by her father, was gowned in
white mousseline de sole, made
with sweetheart neckline and long
.sleeves, ending in points over her
hands. The long full skirt ended in
a fan -shaped train - and her vell,
falling in finger-tip length, was
held with a Malo of seed pearl. She
also wore a gold locket and brace-
let, gifts of the bridegroom, and
carried a colonial bouquet of white
roses and bouvardda. The bride's
sister, Miss Edna Davison, .Sebring-
villa, was maid of honor, gowned
in peach ;sheer made in floor length
style with bishop sleeves and as
headdress she wore a halo of net in
matching shade with gold access-
ories, Miss Mary Ireland, Brussels,
the bridesmaid. wore a frock of
pale blue sheer fashioned in similar
design as that of the maid of hon-
or with halo of blue net and silver
accessories. They both Carried col-
onial bouquets of peach and blue
autumn flowers, Little Patricia
Samir, Brussels. was flower girl
frocked in mauve net made in floor
length, and she carried a bouquet
of yellow rosebuds. Private W. Har-
vey Bryans, Listowel, brother of
the bridegroom, was best man .and
the ushers were Mr. Dean F. Davi-
son and Mr. Hugh Pearson, A re-
ception was held at the home of the
bride's parents. The bride's table
was prettily don e with chrysanthe-
mums, and aster's and those assist-
ing were Miss Norma Lowes, To-
ronto, Mrs. D]'uest Bradshaw, Wes-
ton, Miss Mina Bryan, Miss Betty

the - bride wore a brown suit with
white stripes and accessories to
match. The couple will reside on
the bridegroom's farm in Morris
township, Out-of-town guests were
present from Sebringville, Port E1

The 14 -year bonus will be callable
