Huron County Seed Fair, which is to be held in the Clinton District Collegiate Institute in Clin- ton, on March 9 and 10, 1951,0 it was announced to -day by 1VIr. R. G. Mennett. Secretary -Treasurer of the 'Haven Crop Improvement Associat- ion. 1lr, Bennett pointed ma that Iles year's show promises to be one of the outstanding agricultural e vents of th' year. The Huron Crop •provement Association has spared so efforts in trying; to insnrc the O ncrPlis of this show. It is hoped that all fainters in the county will interest themselves in it. Farmers in the country should remember that Fell are members of this association eml if they have grain ter seed which 'bey feel le suitable fns the Seed Fair, it would be good business to get some exhibits wall prepared to .exhibit at the show. The association is offering total of more than 5500.00 in prizes inelnding some very magnificent specials. alone with some hand- some trophies. which have heen :ionated by various organizations. in addition to the actual showing of exhibits, there will be many other 'Tighlights. The Huron County 'Junior Seed Judging Competition will he held in conjunction with this ebow and will be carried out coin ssa ntewcillg nit 9,30 a, m., March 10th. 111 juniors in Huron County under the age of 80 years are welcome te Luke part in this competition. These will be separate sections for, the juniors [Mil the seniors. The juniors will include boys under 20 years of age while the senior's ,will include boys between 20 and 30 years of age. Handsome trophies will be be award- ed In each section in addition to some special prizes. This year the show is being thrown open to the public on Friday evening and it is especially hoped that a number of town people will take advantage of viewing the exhibits anti also there Will be a short pro. gram of motion Pictures' and the like highlighted by the preslentetion of special prizes and also .the judges comments. A very fine programme has been workedout for Saturday afternoon, Manch 10th, at which time the main feature velli.be a Panel Discussion led. by Mr. Jack NioPherson, Dilrector of Publicity, Ontario Department of Agriculture. On this Panel we Fhave included suob well-known experts as, Professor R. Keegan of the Field Husbandry De- partment of the Ontario Agricultural Oollege, Mr, J. A. Garner, B. S, A., Director of Extension, Ontario De- partthent of Agriculture, Mr. Jamles H. Scott, Prominent Farmer, ,Sea - forth end Mr. N. S. Murphy, PNeld- man, Crops, Seeds, and Weeds Branch. At the conclusion of the Panel Discussion there will be aa+ auuction sale of the ten -bushel lots of grain. A varied number of educational exhibits by various extension ser - rices throughout the country will hP nn display depicting various nhases of agriculture. A big feature nF the show this year will he a com- netttion of educational exhibits de- picting different Phases of Soi1'Con- serration which will be carried out by the district High Schools in the County of Huron. LITTLE STAR MISSION BAND The regular monthly meeting of the "Little Star Mission Band" of Melville Presbyterian Church was held in the primary room on Sunday, Feb. 25th. The meeting opened by singing of the theme song, "We're a Little Mission Baud," followed by the secretary's report by Helen Wilson. Catherine Riddick gave the treasurer's report and the roll call' was answered by a good attendance, Mrs, Gerald Gibson discussed the business followed by a piano solo by Frank Wilson, Hymn 798 was then sing. Mos, George Elliott gave the scripture reacting. Mary Agnes Higgins led in prayer. Offering was taken and a very interesting story was told by Mr's, G.
