brought the Piper airplent' he was
flying to a safe landing at a Point
north of Auburn, last week -end, after
the motor died at 2000 feet altitude.
The aircraft wasn't even saratcbed
in the Powerless forced landing and
Pilot and paseen•ger were completely
unharmed. Due to snow coveract
fieide, it is extremely hard to lnrats
suitable fields. In this case. Pilot
Lillow picked the only suitable field
for mllee around. The cause of the
engine failure in dirently attributed
to the extreme sold and "frnafinrss"
of the air whish rinsed fee to form
in the carburetor, thus chnkine off
the fuel supply. Altlrnngh a enetee
is fitted to the engine to binder the
forming of ins in the earhuretnr, it
was insufficient to nverrnme the

The first meeting of the year was
held at the home of Mrs. R. B.
Cousins with the new officers in
the chairs. The business part of the
meeting was the discussion of plans
for the activities for the coining year.
Mrs. Rev, Lane gave us a most in-
formative talk on the history of
Japan which.,is the subject of our
study for bilis year.
The devotional part of the meeting
was followed by a clock contest.
We. were favored with a pleasing
solo by'Mrs. Cousins accompanied by
Miss Betty Cousins at the piano.
A dainty lunch was served and a
social half hoer was enjoyed.

previous meeting were given by the
secretary Mrs. Wm, Fischer. Dues

year, Instead the ladiies decided to
send out an apron to patch and a
donation to be enclosed. Several

eussed, Mrs. Bryan the treasurer
gave the financial report , which
was, very encouraging. The meeting
then close with prayer and lunoh was
