A widely known and popular figure
in town and country passed away
with startling suddenness in Provost,
Alberta. on Aug. 3rd, as Mr. and
Mrs. W. G. Farquharson were bidding
farewell to guests from Walton, Ont.,
and Moosejaw, Sask.. and planning
a reunion back East Will was seized
with a heart attack and expired in
the arineof his friend.
Mr. Farquharson was born near
Walton, Ont.. 12 years ago. Son of
the late David and Mrs, Farquhar•
sno. going west lit 1319. Ile home
etl ailed in the Eye Hill district, in
1912 he started off on a career of
public service. Serving on the
mun'rlpal cemneil for several years.
Tie 1922 he was elected to represent.

held that position till the Social
Credit landslide iu 1935.

Hospital Board,
Mr. Farqrharson is survived by his
wife the former Kate Telfer of
Walton, Ont., and two children
Stuart and Helen, also two brothers
Alex and Ed,, of Edmonton, and
two sisters Mrs. Lewis (Belle) of
Vancouver, and Mrs. Laubman
(Trenel of Edmonton. All of whom
were present for the funeral.
Funeral seun•icn was held in the
Provost 'United Church in which Mr.
and Mrs. Farquharson were active
worker,, with the Rev. Wm. Archer,
conducting the service. A quartette
from, the choir sang "One Sweetly
Solemn 'fhneeht," accompanied at
the organ 'by lir. Aitken, Six nurses
in teniform were present as guard
of honor •at the crowded service and
the, great nrray of beautiful flowers
which revered and overflowed the
casket was one measure of the
popularity and esteem accorded to
one who will he long remembered
in the hearts of all who knew him.
Burial was made in the Provost
cemetery.

equipment—electronics, radar, radio and telephone.
