The Woman's Association of Blue -
vale United Church met at the home
of Mrs. Joseph Smith, Thursday
afternoon, The president, Mrs. .tone
Wickstead, presided and read the
scripture passage. ,Reports we're
given by the secretary, Mrs, George
Thomson, and the treasurer, Mrs,
Alex 1VLeCrackin. The parsonage
committee reported a recent pur-
chase of furniture for the parson-
age and pleats were discussed for
further improvements.
The W. M. S. of the United Church
met following the W, A. meeting,
Mrs. George Fell, president, con-
ducted the meeting and led In
prayer. Mrs. E. Johnston read the
' ntinetes and MIss Ernana John -
ton gave the treasurer's statement.
Mrs. Earl Hamilton held charge of
the program, on the topic, "The
\Voted's Convention on Christian
Education" This convention is be-
ing held in Toronto this month.
Over 5,000 delegates are expected,
1,000 of these being representa-
tives of the United Church. Mise
Emma Johnston, Mrs Frank
Stamper, Mrs. Alex Corrigan, and
Mrs, Fleming Johnston described
the various aspects of the convent-
ion, members taking part and the
missionary work being done in the
countries from which they came,
Countries mentioned were Korea,
India and Trinidad,

Saburday evening, July 22nd to offer

in Western Canada and Vancouver,
B. C. He started out in life teaching
school in Ontario one of them being
at Monorleff, then went West and
taught there for some time. Later
in the Land Office at Prince Albert
for some years. Many homesteaders
were grateful to him for his services
in getting them well located, Then
he was Secretary of the Retail Inter.
