The Post and its readers are sorry
to hear that Miss R, Shurrie had the
misfortune to fall and break her
hip last Saturday. She was removed
to Clinton Hospital. Her -many
friends wish her a very speedy re-
covery.
Mr, and Mrs. J. Wilton and Jean
attended the Unger -Coleman wed-
ding in St. Thomas on June 10th. The
bride is the daughter of the late
Mrs. W. F. Coleman (Elsie Wilton) ,
I formerly of Brussels.
Mr. and Mrs, A. W. Synnott and
Sylvia attended the 0. A. C. Alumnae
in Guelph on Saturday. Mr, Synnott
left for Springfield, Ohio, Sunday
morning. .

at B. C. S. for the past two years,
has accepted a Position at teacher at
the Tavistock Continuation School,
Tavistock, Ont.
Mr. and Mrs. John Doig, Listowel,
celebrated the 50th anniversary of
their marriage on Tuesday of this
week at their home with the family
and friends, wishing them much joy
in the future, Mrs. Doig was the

Brussels Legion To Sponsor
Soap Box Derby, July 19th
The Brussels Branch of Canadian
Legion are holding a Soap Box Derby
on Sports Day, July 19th.
Contestants mast consist of a boy
and a girl and must he under
fourteen year of age. Cars must be
four wheeled and home-made by
contestants.
Entries must be left with Geo,
Baeker not later than July 15th with
proof of age.

Brussels Men Hate Narrow
Escape From Death
Lorne Bryans, a Buu.ss,els trucker,
and his companion, Jack Miller, had
a miraculous escape from death, or
serious injury, when the Bryans'
transport trailer plunged over a
thirty foot embankment.
The accident occnred ten miles
from Brantford, when the two
men were returning home atter
trucking cattle to Buffalo.
The truck took the 8041. drop after
shearing off 15 guard posts when
Mr, Bryans, who was driving, was
blinded by headlights of an oncoming
car. . .

ing the east thorn of the Library.

Mrs. Lake.
It was decided to give a grant to
the Fair T3oard. "Frozen Woods" is
to he the subject of an afternoon
short course to lie given at an early
date.
The July meeting is to be the
annual picnic and will be held on the
farm of MT. and Mrs. Wm. Miller.
A demonstration on making and
fitting. slip covers was given by
Miss FraneisDonzais of the Goclerich
Sewing Centre which was very in-
teresting and should prove useful to
those present.
Mrs. Martha Logan was the win-
ner of thesewing course donated by
the Sewing Centre.
The meeting closed with the

and in memory those to whom it
was set up. An appropriate anthem
was snug by the choir. The min-
ister's text was. "Do all to the glory
of God."

was led by the Woodham hand. The
evening discourse was, "Our Pro-
testant Heritage" Misses Ruth and
Jean Jewell favored with a fine duet.
