Melville Women's Guild
A delightful meeting of the Mel-
ville Women's Guild was held at
the home of Miss Jessie Little on
Tuesday evening, May 10. Twenty -
lour members were present.
Mrs, Cal Kreuter, who was in the
chair, opened the meeting, and
read a short meditation, Mrs. Schultz
read the Scripture and Mrs. James
McFarlane read the prayer. A
splendid topic based on the Songs of
Solomon was given by Mrs. Mc-
Creath,
Miss .lune Work contributed the
beautiful vocal number "Homing"
accompanied at the piano by Mrs.
George Elliott. Then the three
winners of the Public Speaking Con-
test from Grade TX at Brussels
School delivered their winning
speeches very ably to a most ap-
preciative audience, The young
people were Heather Allen, Karen
Ruschlin and Donald Edgar.
After a brief business meeting
during which the Guild volunteered
to help with the work being done at
the Manse, the members composed
a newsy letter to Mrs. Milne. Another
item of entertainment was a con-
test conducted by Mrs. 'Kreuter en-
titled "The Books of the'Bible."
An enjoyable lunch was then
served and the hotess and com-
mittee were thanked by Mrs. Harold
Cardiff on behalf of the ladies
present,
