Easter Seal Campaign
EASTER SEAL SALE
To many of us Baster symbolizes
a time when we think of self-denial,
Apart from the religions observances
that many make, it reminds ,us that
the spirit of giving finds a reflect-
ion, in the satisfaction that comes
from aiding some other person.
In recent years in this province a
means of giving much help through
even a smell contribution has been
offered in the purehase of Baster
seals to aid in crippled children's
work, 11 is an example of much good
(lone by the cominecl efforts of
many.
Laster seals are offered by the
Ontario Society for Crippled Child-
ren and the mare than 150 service
clubs affiliated with the society in
province -wide work, The seals fin-
ance the year-round program which
brings the finest medical and sur-
gical skill to bear on the problems of
children who are handicapped by
deformities.
From a small beginning a few years
ago, the big idea becomes a big pro-
lect. Children who might otherwise,
because of financial inadequacy or
remoteness from skilled physicians,
never receive treatment are visited
Iby the nurses of the Society, are
brought to the attention of special-
ists who visits clinics throughout
the province, have their conditions
diagnosed, and are provided with
treatment.
Local service clubs form the field

co-operates, and they sponsor child-
ren from their community areas.
T1ia sale of seals finances the flow
of children of treatment centres and
provides the backing for the network
of nurses who follow up the child-
ren, sae they receive attention and
help them become rehabilitated.
Hundreds of children have been
rescued from helplessness, have been
treated and trained in trades. They
have been made into self-reliant citi-
zens. But hundreds more must be
helped. Purchases of Raster seals can
make this possible.
