Mrs, James Bowman Enters
89th Year

of ferns and ivy, Mrs. James Bowman
received the good wishes and con-
greulations of many friends who
called to se her last Tuesday on her
SSth birthday. The occasion was
celebrated at the home of her
daugirtree Mrs. Jolui Galbraith, with
two other daughters, Mrs. R. J.
(Elizabeth Wheeler, Godentch, and
Mrs. Dr. (Vine) Scutt, Lindsay, also
present to join in the festivities.
Mrs. Bowman is hale and hearty
and possessed of a marvelous
sense of humor, which has endear-
ed her to many friends. She sloes
most of her own work in her home,
where she keeps house for her son
Robert. The malting of beautiful
patched quilts is one of her favourite
pastimes. In talking with friends
during the afternoon, Mrs. Bowman
made the statement that she had a
good life, filled with joys, true
friends, and pleasant experiences.

Board, and much credit for getting
the fair hack on a sound financial
basis goes to him.

to its meetings,

tainers will be welcomed back at

Milne's departure from the con-
gregation. Mrs, Milne will leave
shortly with. her husband and
family for their new charge in
Merrill, Oregon, U. S. A. She has
always been most willing and co-
operative in the work of the Mission-
ary and in .the Little Stars Mission

for her. ,
Mrs. Milne poured tea, at a tea -
table covered with lace cloth and
centered with yellow daffodils and
glowing yellow candles'. A delicious
lunch was served by the women of
the committee; Miss Grace Stewart,
Mrs, Robert Thomson, Mrs. James
Bailantyne, Mrs. Gerald. Gibson, Mrs.
Cameron Adams, Mrs. William Seely.
Mrs. Jas. S. Armstrong expressed
the thanks o•f the W. M. S. to Mrs.
Galbraith for the use of her home for
the meeting,

On Monday, March 18ith., the Huron
County Federation of Agriculture held
a Poultry Producers' meeting in the
Agricultural Board room at Clinton
to disown the formation of Poultry
Producer's oranglzation on a County
and Provincial scale.
The Irederatien hats hate a three
man Poultry Committee for several
years and to this commibtee two
more' members were added. The
committee now consists of Mr. Jim
Scott, Seaforth, chairman; Mr, Elgin
McKinney, Zurich; Mr. 'Harold Johns,
Woodham; Mr. Harold Campbell,

Brussels.

On behalf of the Guild, Mrs. Joe
Martin presented Mrs. Milne with a
gift and said how much her generosity
and leadership had been appreciated,
and how sadly they would mass' her
in the future.
Mrs. Lloyd Alcock thanked the host-
ess and the ladies in charge of the
meeting for their hospitality and the
lovely tuna they provided.
