A by-law TO regulate and govern
plumbers and the plumbing Busi-
ness in the Village of Brussels.
WHEREAS it is expedient that
some controle be exercised over
plumbing and installation plumb-
ing instalments in • the Village of
'Brussels.
AND WHEREAS it is expedient
to pass a by-law regulating the same.
NOW THEREFORE the Munici-
pal Council of the Corporation of
the Village of Brussels enacts as
follows;
(1) No person, firm, or torpor•
anon, a resident or located in the
Village of Brussels shall carry on in
whole or in part the business of
plumbing without first having ob-
tained a license and permit from
the corporation as hereinafter de-
fined.
(2) No person„ firm or corporation
who are non-residents or located out-
side the Village of Brussels shall
carry on tn,whole or in part or do
any plumbing work within the cor-
poration
otpotation without first having obtain-
ed a permit as herinafter defined.
(3) All perons firms and corpor-
ation as defined in "Paragraph "1"
shall obtain on or before the first
day of January, each year, a license
to earry on or do any plumbing work
within the corporation of the

be valid for the particular job ap-

being undertaken by' any of the

, (3) Any person, firm, or corporation
failing to obtain such permit as re-
ferred to by those in Pargraph (1)
shall, at the option of the Council

(7) Every person, firm or cor-
poration who Is guilty of any con-
travention of this by-law shall In
addition to any other remedy to
which the .corporation array be en-
titled, shall incur a penalty not ex- i
seeding fifty dollars exclusive of
costs on conviction before a ma.gis•
trate under the Summary Convictions
Act and any firm so levied. and any
costs so imposed shall be levied and
collected in the manner provided
under the summary Convictions
Act, and, in default of payment,
the guilty person, firm or corpor-
ation shall be liable to imprison-
ment in the common gaol for any
period not exceeding ten days,
(8) This by-law shall take effect
on the first day of January, 1950.
