The Voice Of Temperance
The Ontario Department of Health
is establishing a hospital for the
treatment of alcoholics at Erindale.
This can be regarded as an aoknow•
ledgement that the liquor situation
has worsened under the Govern
ment's 'Liquor Control Act. The
Huron •Temperance Federation re-
calls that under Prohibition cure
centres for alcoholics went out of
business. Surely we know now that
to increase the sale is to aggravate
the problem of alcoholism.

Science is playing an increasingly im-
portant role in Canada's new Army. In
heavy anti-aircraft, for example, com-
plex radar equipment predicts to with-
in a few feet exactly where the target
is and will be. The gunners, their backs to the target, fire
with amazing accuracy by instrument.
Training men in the use of modern scientific equip-
ment is a major requirement in Canada's new Army.
Thousands of young men are attending some of the finest -
schools in the country, specializing in electronics, radar,
radio and telephone. In addition, there are openings for •
clerks, drivers, mechanics and many other trades.
New higher pay, good food and quarters, trades train-
ing. and the opportunity for advancement make the
Canadian Army Active Force one of the most attractive
careers open to young men today. You are eligible if you
are 17 or over and can meet Army requirements. Visit
your nearest recruiting office soon for full details. Bring
certificates of birth and education with you.
