At the morning service on Sunday,*
Rev, Mr. Milne preached on the
subject "The power of religion' 'and
stated instances from the Bible and
modern life where men had been
reclaimed by religion and lived to
render great service to humanity.
The morning anthem was "Crusaders
for Christ," by Nayior, The solo
parts were taken by Mrs. W. Edgar
and Miss June Work. At the evening
service Mr. Milne preached on the
text "Ye are the salt of the earth."
The United Church
The sermon at morning worship in
The United Church on Oct. G was
"The Centrality of Jesus" in which
the minister drew attention to the
central place of Jesus in the scheme
of things both in the life of the
individual and in society, In the
evening the series, "Night Scenes in
the Bible" was continued, the subject
being "A Night of Revelry" an
account of the eclipse of the Baby-
Ionian
abyIonian regime.
"Soldiers of Christ" by Arthur
• Leland was the morning anthem an@
in the evening "Now the Day is
Over" by John Adamson.

meeting was opened with the singing

and the Friendship Circle Prayer. The
meeting was then adjourned. Mrs.
Bryans conducted a "Can You Name
It Contest' 'and then a delicious lunch
was served by some of the Iadies in
charge.
Our Christmas Time meeting will be
on Tuesday, December 6th at the
church. All members are urged to he
present for our Yuietiee Get -To

On. Monday, Nov. 7111 the United
Church Young People's meeting was
held at the parsonage, The meeting
opened with singing "Breathe in me
breath of find.' This was followed
by the business. The secretary's
report was given by • Gordon Lane,
Twelve members answered the roll
1 call, The topic, "The Meaning of
Fellowship" was given by Rev. Lane ,
The meeting closed by "Whisper a
Prayer.' A delicious lunch was
served by the hostess.
