Mrs, Lawrence Jaclriin died of
injuries received shortly after a car
driven by her husband crashed into
a ditch across the Hullett-Morris
road between Walton and Blyth.
Their three month old son, Glen
Charles, died almost Instantly. Mr.
Jacklin, suffering face and chest
iphuries, was taken to Scott Mem-
orial hospital. Seaforth but was
released early this week. Their four
other young children. who were in
the car with then, escaped with
only minor cuts and bruises.
Mr, Jacklin, it is said, failed to
see any warning sign and crashed
into the hole. The impact of the ear
on the west wall of the ditch fora"d
the motor backward, threw the car,
nnrjght. lengthwise in the ditch. The
injured driver forced his way from
the wrecked vehicle. carried the
body of his son, and his wife: still
alive. up' the emtbankment, saw that
the four'othe' children were safely
out, then ran a mile for help. Mrs,
Jacklin was living when Dr. Myers
of Brussels, reached her side. but
had expired before the arrival of the
ambulance.
A post mortem, conducted by Dr.
