i Mrs. Laura Lake
On Saturday, Juno 17th at the home
of her daughter Mrs. A. Henry,
2 Etliel, death Cama quietly to Mrs.
0 Laura Lake, wife of the late John
8 1 Lake, in her 87th year, Mrs. Lake
2I was born in Morris twp. and moved
4 to Grey twp. 55 years ago, where
1 they farmed until retiring to
Brussels twenty -Ave years ago.
Left to mourn her loss are three
sons, Charles of Brussels, Milton of
Elora and Bert of 12th can. Elwin
twp, and two daughters (Olive) Mrs.
A, Henry, Ethel and (Emma) Mrs.
Llyle Hopper, Bolgrave, one brother
Henry Bosman of Morris twp. and
three sisters Mrs, Sarah Maguire. of
Wingieem, Mrs. L. Pepper of Van-
couver B.C. and Mrs. Martha Leash•
man of Liberty, Sask., 10 grand-
children and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on. Mon-
day, Juaie 20th from her late resi-
dence, Queen St., Brussels iat 2 p.m.
Service was conducted by her
pastor Rev. Hugh Wilson. Pall-
bearers were six grandsons, Tool
Garniss, Lloyd Alcock, Elwood Me -
Taggart, Stanley Hopper, Jack Lake.
and Angus Matheson. Fioverbearers
Mere five granciaughters, Nora Mc-
Taggart, Laura Alcock, Muriel
Garniss, Jean Hopper and Lillian

Itenovations at the Crystal Palace
will be completed In time for the
openig dance on June 28, A new
hardwood floor has been laid, and
alterations made to comply with
safety regulations. The Fair Board
intends to work aowai'de the es-
tablishing of a larger Fall Fair, and
new projects will be flnaaced with
the proceeds from amusements held
during the year in the Palace. The
additional floor apace wi11 permit
more displays at the Fall Fair,' and

major functions can he held,

hors from Seaforth and Wingham
met with Brussels school hoard and
council and members of the Morris
and Grey school boards and Councils.
Some ratepayers were also present.
Controversy has arisen over
whether the entire Brussels area
will he included in Wingham or
Scaferth. A motion had been passed
to join the Wingham area hut
certain portions of the townships. and
some of the villagers are in favour

were however, appreciative, of the
simper given them and pleased with
the honour of being asked to present
the musical revue as the garden

ceived a cut from glass, in her foot,
