A Bargain Year
To Purchase Registered Seed
Because of a sudden and unex-
pected lack of demand from Europe
Inc Registered seeds—owing to,their
difficulty in obtaining foreign ex-
change—there is today a consider-
able surplus of Registered seed of
many kinds and varieties in Can-
ada. Seed growers, therefore, have
reduced their prices on sees to com-
paratively low levels, which hardly
recompense them for their cost ot
production. This, then, is a bargain
year for Canadian farmers to pun
obese Registered seed in greater
quantities than usual, and for farm-
ers who have not hitherto followed
the practice of using Registered
Seed to do so this year.
ATTENTION TURKEY GROWERS—

Any spirited young man has no fear for, the
future. He's determined to "get some place"
and earn a good income.
That's as it should be. But experience shows
that the men who have built up estates on the
firmest foundation are those who steadfastly
invested part of each year's earnings in fife
insurance.
For years they end their dependents have
enjoyed the peace of mind that conies from
financial security. Mortgages have been paid
off and children educated. Now these men are
taking life easy.

Good grouping makes a charming and lifelike shot that tells a story of
the morning's mail with news and snapshots from home.
MORE THAN ONE
rANE of the pitfalls of picture-
taking—yet one that can easily
be avoided—is What we call a
group Shot. Several of any friends
who are casual snapshooters fre-
quently go astray here. They May
make a beautiful snap of a child
playing with a toy, But get three or
four children in a group and my
friends want to line them up,
. But three personstanding idly
staring into a camera look no bet-
ter than one penal doing 00. In
fact, the, may look worse. For in
a picture oe this sort all the faces
compete for attention, Sneh a pic-
ture lacks unity,
NeWspaPer photographers long'
ago worked out a Simple solution
to this problem. If you shady the
grotpa'01 three Or four pictured In
papers you spot it, easily. Ceenerally
the hales cameramen pose their sub-
jects iso that one is talking and the
others in the group are looking at
him, listenieg,
Today's pleture offers a similar
means of good grouping. None of
the girls in the snapshot are watch-
ing the camera. Insteatl, the atten-
tion of all three is tocused.on the
snapshots the one girl holds. The
shot is a. natural one; all three
subJects are behaving in a normal
fashion.
Awl that's the key to good groan.)
pictures. Make them watered. When
two people get Logether they don't
stand shoulder to shoulder, racing
the same direelion, They face each
other, chat, look over a book, a let-
ter, or a paper—and ehat's how
your pictures should show them,
Not only are such snaps charm-
ingly lifelike, but they tell stories
oe their °WM And because they
"say” something/ they are more In.
terosLitig than a mere record shot.
