The body of Stanley Verna Bowel; was recovered at ,approximately ten o'clock, Tuesday morning from the waters of Lake I-Iuron of which he Was a victim at Point Clark on Sun- day evening. Verne Bowes, 17 year old son of 11r. and Mrs, Earl Bowes, Grey Twp., drowned in rough waters of Lake Huron at Point,Clairk sifter saving the me or Donna Alexander, with whom, in company with another couple, he had gone to the resort for the day. Donna, 17, is the daughter •of Mr. and MTS. Stranley Alexaaider also of Grey Township and neighbours of the Bowes family, About 6 p, in. the couple waded out 100 yards off sihore'loto•rough water where Donna got into trouble and Verne rushed to ter •rescue. Police stated he pushed her -back into shal- low water where she was picked up by a boat. When the 'boat returned for the boy he bad disappeared. It is believed that he wes, caught by a strong undertow, or suffered YL cramp.
