Meteorites
from Bennetts
.BRUCE SPEIRAN
Most people heaa tor the beach t!
and lake to escape the hot, humid
weather but the writer humbly sub-
mits that a trip to Bennett Motors
Limited might be more in order.
You see, the sales staff at B, M. L.
Iwas unable to clash away from the
I heat over the weekend and, while we
are sorry to have to acknowledge the
fact, we are afraid the whole kit and
caboodle Have been tetohad by the
heat. The prices are out of this world
(and so are tinatesmen! ! ). After
looking over some of the prides, we
think you'll agree the beach would
be nice on a hot afternoon - but why
not ride there in style,. Take the 1949
Meteor Coach, the two-tone blue job
that is plainly marked at $535.00.
This ear has not been reconditioned
but it runs, it is licensed and it is
free of a cracked block or faulty rear
end. Then there is a 1946 Austin
Sedrun, a black beauty at $390 that
is reconditioned (something must
have happened home - the service
department told the sales staff they
wore too busy to service any used
-.ars but apparently this choice
'second car” slipped In under the
wire). There are a host of other cars
I at prices, low enough to crawl under
the legs of a centipede - a 1960
AUSTIN SEDAN, grey at 490; a
1946 PLYMOUTH SEDAN, blue
at $340; 1947 PLYMOUTH SEDAN
blue. at $390.
If these car prices look "gone wits
the heat" then what descriptive is
left for the trucks? Swiftle (bhat's
my boss) and •company Hurst figure
the public Le broke because the
Prices are sure to break Swtltie.
Here its a linear of five tracks, some
reconditioned, some painted but all
running. 1952 Ford %ton pick-up,
assn, $960 and reconditioned in the
bargain: 1952 Fargo 3ta,ton plclt-up,
