But it was all in vain, for they were just out of reach: so he gave up trying, and walked away with an air of dignity and unconcern, remark- ing, "I thought those Grapes were ripe, but I see now they are quite sour." At last reports it was doing well with a good chance of survival. Couple Honored The many friends of Robert Cunningham filled the Twp. Hall in Ethel to ,honor him and his bride ou their recent marriage. A very enjoyable program of readings, soros, piano music, and a wedding skit was presented, with George A. Dunbar as master of ceremonies. At the end of the pro- gram Robert and Mrs. Cunningham were called to the platform. Mrs. Chester Earl read a suitable address and George Hutchinson Presented the young couple, with a well-filled purse of money. In his usual good style Robert Thanked his friends. Lunch was served and clanking was enjoyed to the music of Wilbee's Orchestra. Christmas came early to Elizabeth Martin, R.R. 1 Ethel,when she won a bicycle in the Reliance Coloring Contesto. There were 51. bicycles Presented across Ontario. Elizabeth made a good job of her book to get the bicycle and bring honor to the vicinity. Ed. Richards ant. Son of Ethel ,supplied the books. Dlizabteh is the dauglnt>er of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Martin, 6th, con. of Grey Twp. Ethel hockey club held their aunn- nal meeting and entered a team in W, 0. A. A. Intermediate D. Ed. Richards was elected manager, C. 13ateanan, Penalty time keeper; C. C. Ecicmier, Tress; W, Laidlaw, Captain. It was decided to hare a Minstrel Show Monday Dec. 7th. in Ethel Township hall.
