The midway was the centre of

the Eerris wheel and other rides, took

and candy floss -what sticky hands

There were a number of interest-
ing displays of farm machinery and
cars,
Tire square dance competition was
eagerly awaited and enjoyed by a
large number of .,eatator . -
The exhibits and diepleye in the
Palace were very fine. The fine arta

was the largest here since the 2nd
World War and the cattle show was

Palace nn Thursday evening. Open
to pupils of grades 7 and 8, the
contestants had a choice of 3 topics,
"A Queer, Ts Crowned," "The Most
T•;:citing Even& in My Life," and
"How One Can Spend One's Leisure
Tillie," with a ten minute time
limit,
Marton Hoover won first plate
speaking on, "A Queen Is Crowned."
Ronald Line .was+ second describing

Stratford Shakespearean Festival as.
"The Most 'Exciting Event of My
Life." David Kennedy was third
choosing the same topic and telling
about a trip to New York. Mary
Beth Jewell was awarded 4th prize,
advising "How To Spend One's Lei-
sure Time."
Judges were, Rev. J. Boggs, Moles-
woth; Rev. R. A. Brooks, Bluevale,
and Mr. A. Pegg, English teacltet at
Seaforth Ter School.
Miss Margaret Perrie contributed
several piano solos.

FALL FAIR HORSE RAGES
BEST IN YEARS
Held in connection with the fall
fair, the harness races were termed
the best in years). With the track in
good shape, keen competition featur-
ed both classes. Spectators were
given one thrill when Harry Dow-
dy. or Wroxdter, upset in the fire"'
heat of the 2,24 event, both horse
and driver esnaped injury. In the
".24 elan Diamond G., owned by
Finnegan Haney, of Seaforth, was a 1
double heat winner, while in the
free-for-all Lady 1"ormby driven by
Jake Gelsel, of Hanover, headed the
list.
