School. There will he dispplays of
pupils' work in all subJects, parti-
cularly art, shopwork and sewing

'will have a conservation exhibit,
baby chicks and other spring pro-
jects. There will also be a short
physical education programme and

John Howard
Tiro death °mired in Listowel
:Memorial ihosnital on Wed., May 13
of Sohn Howard a resident of Ethel
for the Past eight years, and prior
to that a resident of Grey Township
near Monerieff. Mr. Howard was
in his 84th year. Mrs. Howard the
former Penny Ann McKay died in
September 1950.
He is survived 'by two daughters
Mrs. Samuel (Katle) Steward, Logan
Township and Mrs, James (Mildred)
MeTaggart, Grey Township. The
funeral service was held on Friday
at 2.00 p. ni. at hie late residence at
Ethel, •the service was conducted
by Rev. A. Lane of Brussels assisted'
by the members of C. 0. F., No. 261.
of Ethel, from Whom he received his
fifty year jewel previously.
The pallbearers were! Bro. mem.
bere of the deceased Stewart.Me-
Nair, Carman Baker, George Hutch-
ineon, Robert Bennett, William
Close and Charles Hansuld.
The flower -bearers were: Harvey
Dobson, William Evan, Jack Evans,
Foster Smith, Charles Shearer, and
Henry Gorsalitz.
Many relatives end friends attend -

Sunday. A. special order 'of service
with the theme "The-Eerth Is the
Lord's," was followed in the ‘United
Church. Tlie sermon, "Seedtime"

church praise was. led by a male
ehoir of twenty-four voices. A double
quartette composed of W. J. Proct-
er, Thos. Pierce, G. Speir, Stan,
Wheeler, Gordon. Lane, Thos,
Ptrachan, Lloyd 'Wheeler, and Lawrie
Cousins sang the spiritual, "Steal
Away". 'She choir numbers . were,
"The Church in the Wildwood" and
"Song of JOY." We hone to have this
choir furnish the.music for another
service in the near fdture.
On Stunday, May 24th there will
he a patriotic service and on Sun-
day, May 31 a special service to
mark the coronation a Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth. 'Phe annual Flow-
er Service will he held Sunday,
