OLDSMOBILE FOR 1953 is completely new in frontal appearance, has a host of styling changes inside
and out and features many mechanical advances Including a more powerful "Rocket" engine. Two
series, the Classic "98" and Super "88", offer a total of seven body styles in a wide array of new
solid and two-tone color combinations. Frigidaire car conditioning, that cools the car interior in the
warmest weather; and a safety -padded instrument panel, are options at extra cost on the "98" series.
Directional signals are standard equipment on all models, Both series offer, as extra options, "Pedal
,Ease" power brakes, for faster, safer stops; Power steering; the Autronie.Eye, an automatic headlight
dimmer; and Hydra-lelatic Super Drive. Shown here is the Oldsmobile Super "88" four -rigor sedan.

BY-LAW NO. 5 FOR 1953
A by-law to raise :9100,000.00 to aid
in the construction of tile, stone
or timber drains.
The Council of the Township of
Grey, pursuant to The Tile Drainage
Act, enacts as follows:
1. That the Reeve may from time
to 'time. subject to the provisione
of this Bylaw. borrow an the credit
of the oorporation of the Municipal-
ity such sum not exceeding in the
whole 5100,000.00, as may be de-
termined by the Council, and may
in manner hereinafter provided
damn debenturres of the corporation
in such sums as the Council may
deem proper for the amount so bor-
rowed, with coupons attached as
provided in section 4 of the said Act.
2, That, subject to fraction 10 o.
The Tile Drainage Act. when the
Council is of opinion that the an-
plioartion of zany person to borrow
money for the purpose of oonistruct-
ing a tile, alone or amber drain
should be granted in whole or in
:part. the Council may, by resolution,
direct the Reeve to issue debentures
418 aforesaid and to borrow a sunt
not eeceedimrg the amount applied
for. and may tend the :same to the
applicant on the completion of the
draimge work.
3. .A special anvnual rate shall be
imposed, levied and collected over
and above all other rates upon the
land to respect of which the money
is borrowed, .sufficient for the pay,
menet of the principal and interest
as provided by the Act.
