deist meeting. The meeting closed
with the singing df hymn No. 550 .and
the repeating of the benediction.
Mrs. T. Garniss conducted an Irish
contest during the social period and
a very tasty lunch was served by
the .committee Mrs. Cousins, Mrs. C.
Watson, and Mrs. Wm. Emits.
FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE
'the October meeting of the Friend-
ship Circle was held in the yamlour
of the IInited Church on Wednesday
evening Oat. 1st. The meeting was
opened with the singing of the theme
hymn 'Blest be the tie that Binds"
followed by Prayer by Mrs. Ken.
Tyerman. The treas. report and Sun-
hine report both showed a substant-
ial balance. The roll call which
was. "'Mats your beef" was re-
sponded to by the members, Mrs.
C. Bryans amsweringh err by a hum -
minus selection of poetry composed
by herself. Mrs. Jas. Bryans gave a
reading entitled, "A Day Well
Spent." Following the singing of
hymn No. 415. P,talm No. 125 , was
read by Mrs. C. Watson. A very
pleasing piano duet was rendered
