C, ADAMS & SON Brussels, Ontario ETHEL The February meeting of the Red Cross Workers' Branch was held in the Ethel Public School on Thursday; Feb. 14th, commencing at 1.46 p. m. The President, Doris Bateman, presided over the meeting With the addition of 15 pre-school aged children in attendance. Two minutes silence was observed to pay tribute to his Molests', King George VI. After the singing of God Save the Queen, the minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted by the secretary, Jean Rock. The roll call was responded to by naming the place where one desired to go for their Easter holt days. The collection was taken, amounted to 38c. The total col- lection received for the Blind Institute was 36.51. Two of the 3 girls on the entertainment com- mittee, Doris Bateman and Peggy Coltman. entertained the senior grades, with Jean Rock and Dona Alexander "le charge of the Junior Grades end visitors, After the dis- tribution of the Valentines, Mns, Stanley Alexander( tassisted by Doris, Bateman, Peggy Coltman and Dona Alexander, served a most delightful lucnh. Later the pupils and visitors returned to their homes, WALTON The W. M. S. of Walton United Church held their regular meeting in the basement of the Church. The meeting opened with a read- ing by Mrs, H. Johnston who was presiding. This was followed by Hymn 6 and the Scripture reading from 1 John, Chap. 4, was read. This was followed by - the worship service and a prayer. The Day of Prayer is to be held in the church on Feb, 20th at 2.30 p. m. The treasure and secretary report Was given. Mrs. H. Johnston reed a Poem in tribute to our late King. Hymn 508 was sung in tribute to our Queen, The Sth, of Morris then took charge under the leadership of Mrs. Ken. McDonald assisted by others in her 'group. TIymn 380 was sung and the meeting was closed with the benediction, Wa'rh for further announcements of the St. Patrick Social at Duff's Milted Church.
