Reet'e Harvey C. Johnston of Mor'
vis township, is n native of" Morris,
son of Stele Johnston and his wile
Rebecca Foreslt, both of Morris, He
was horn Oct. 28, 1904. When he
was a boy his parents moved to
Grey township, and he attended
S, S. 2 Grey, Brussels continuation
school, and agricultural short
coure,ees. Ile worked with his father
on the farms on cont 16, Grey, until

marriage in June 4, 1930, to Lila
Lawson of W,a8toni Since their
wedding, Mr., and Mrs. Johnston
have farmed a 225 -more property
lot 28, con. 8, Morris, Their farm-'
ins enterprise is based on Short-
horn. subtle and Yorkshire hogs.
He was elected at the opening,
session: of Huron County Council
al Goderioh. Timer Webster, Stan-
ley township reeve moved that ,the
election be unanimous; this was
seconded by Reeve Dan, Beurmann
of McKillop township.

He has held municipal office

which the new 'Rearden was escort-

Warden Johnston thanked the
council for the honor and pointed
out that Morris had only had one
previous warden sine its incorpor-
ation in 1902. He hoped, for a sueceas-
ful year, and that world conditions
would be more settled.

Morris township, Mr. 11. J. Bowman
et Brussels was warden lu 1936.

of Molewonth, wtho was the special
preaoher. In his sermon Mr. Boggs

good will," Church bells are a call
to worship and prayer, They
seem to say Come ! Come ! The
speaker related that as a boy in
Ireland, walking across the fields to
church, be was always Impressed
with the ringing of the church bells
In the distance.
As an illustration Mr. Boggs de-
scribed Millet's great picture, "'Phe
Angeles," The picture bas a 3 -
fold meaning. It represlents work,
Prayer and Worship, and Love.
A full choir, under tile leadership
of organist, Louis D. Thompson
rendered the anthems, "0 Song Hope
and Peace" by San Souri. and "Holy
Art Thou" set to the music of
Handel's Largo; Wm. King and
Mary Lou McFarlane taking the
solo parts.. At this service a gen•
rrous gift of 25 new hymnals witb
music, were presented to the choir

Majestic Women's Institute
The Majestic Womekes institute
held their January meeting in the
Brussels Public Library on January
10th, with a good attendance and a
number of visitors attending, The
meeting opend with Ode and repeat-
ing the Institute Creed,
The minutes and financial reports
were read by the secretary Seventy-
five boxes were sent out to shut-ins.
Many thank you notes were received
and passed around. Committees
were appointed for the next two
dances.
A discussion was held on sanitat-
ion for the town hall and a com-
mittee of Mrs. J. Speer, Mrs
Stephens and Mrs. Cudmore, to meet
with the property commission of the
town.
