CHRISTMAS AHEAD
A S a man who leaves his shopping
L. to the last minute, i've always
had a world of admiration for the
type of Christmas shopper who picks
up gifts the entire year around.
You probably know the type. In
May they see a present that's right
for Uncle Bill, buy it on the spot,
and carefully put It away. In June
they pick up something for their
nephew. And, come Christmas, all
their shopping is done; all that's
bat is to wrap the gifts.
• The sante type of foresight also
pays off with Christmas Cards—
Photographic greeting cards. It's
never too early to take snaps you
may wish to use for such cards.
And there's no reason to wait for
the first snow to make a idiot with
a Christmas message.
Surely there's no greeting quite
so personal as a photographic one—
ono Showing your family or your
home, one that you've made your-
self. And, at the Su/ii, time, photo-
zraphic rards of this type are easily
mule. It's p,),,sible to purchase
;rooting card folders in which
prints may be slipped into an open-
ing in the card, or you can use a
card on which your negatie is
printed directly. These can be made
either in your own darkroom or by
a photolinisher.
As for the type of picture to use
on cards of this sort—that's a per-
Sonal matter. But snaps of every
type go well. A shot like today's
(one you could shoot right nevl
tells its own Christmas story. So
would a picture of small children
carolling, of a youngster, pajama.
clad, peering up a chimney, of a girl
hanging up a holly wreath on the
door.
Or, it may be that among the
negatives which you Made las:
Christmas Day is a shot of the
ily, round the tree, which would
make a fine geeeting card. Again.
you may have snapshots of yr,.
