To Be Strictly Enforced
Temperance Federation has audi-
ence with Attorney -General Black-
well last week — Delegation in-
cluding Perth and Huron County
Members was courteously re-
ceived.
The Ikon. Leslie (31ackweil re-
ceived a deputation or 'Temperance
workers at his office in the Parlia-
ment Buildings on Sept. 11th.
The delegation was introduced
by Dr, C, W. DeMille, secretary
of the Ontario Temperance Feder-
ation and the following brief was
presented.
`After many appeals and deci-
sions the Canada Temperance Act
is now recognized as goon law.
The Counties of Peel, Perth and
Huron. as well as the District ot
Manitoulin, have adopted the Act.
by fulfilling' the conditions by
which the art could be brought
into force.
We note with gratifieatlon that
the Ontario Government, at the
last session of the Legislature de-
clared its acceptance of the valid-
ity of the Act• and ifs responsibil-
ity in enfm•ning it, •

peranre Federation of these Coun-
ties and District, we respertfnily
presr-nt to the Govern In en the
following:
1. May we tell our people that
the atlitnde of the government is
till to recognize and enforce the

made by the Attarnny-General's De
Partnlent to the effect that It will
instruct its officers to give all
possible assistance in attaining_
the objectives of th-e Act.
3. That all public carriers be re-
quired to keep records of ail liquor
Shipments they handle, by the nsm
of a special book for .this purpose,
which shall be open for inspection
by an enforcement officer,
4. That all liquor supplied to
C.T.A. territory, for personal use,
shall be purchased only through
Government agencies„ and that the
record of these shipments shall be
open to inspectioit by all enforce-
ment officers. That we cordially
approve of the announcement that
the government contemplates tak-
ing over the Brewers' stores.
5. If and when (as suggested)
the question of the rola tion of the -
Canada Temperance Act to the ca -
talo Liquor Control Act, is referred
to the courts by either appeal, Oat.
