SMALL ACCOUNTS—
We have on our books nany small
accounts, ranging from 25c and up,
long overdue. These are
chiefly classified ads. Many of the
'weekly newspaper are now reftts1ng
these small ads, unless they are paid
for before insertion, We hesitate to
take this drastic action, as we realise
that farmers, and others living at a
e•••
distance telephone them in and in
most eases, call and pay for them at
the first opportunity. We do ask,
howevee, that those who have not
done so, help us clear these off our
books. Sending out these small ac-
counts by mail entails a considerable
amount of time, work and added costs
for postage etc, May we ask that all
overdue accounts. be paid.

WHERE IT WENT
TN 1045 the operating revenues of
Athos Canadian National Railways
amounted to $438,773,893. Operating
expenses were $355,294,048, leaving a
net operating revenue of $78,479,845.
After paying interest due the public

$24,755,180 was turned over to the
federal treasury. This was an increase
$1,720,206over the surplus for 1944.

for 15 cents of every dollar taken in.
The system canted 80,870,680 of them
