The Brussels Post, 1946-6-12, Page 2THE BRUSSELS POST Wednesday, June 12th, 1946 Th Only Remedy for Hunger is (1) BUY AND USE LESS BREAD, FLOUR AND OTHER WHEAT PRODUCTS, MEAT, CHEESE AND EGGS. SUBS- TITUTE VEGETABLES, FRUIT AND FISH WHERE POSSIBLE. (2) KEEP YOUR HOME STOCKS LOW — BUY ONLY ENOUGH FOR IMMEDIATE REQUIREMENTS. The most efficient way in which we can send in- creased bulk shipments of WHEAT, MEAT, CHEESE and EGGS to needy coun- tries is through the Cana- dian government food Boards. These increased bulk shipments can only be made providing we reduce our own consump- tion. Here are five im- portant ways by which we can make greater quantities of food avail- able for export: (3) AVOID ALL WASTE. (4) GROW A VICTORY GAR- DEN AGAIN THIS YEAR. PLANT MORE THIS TIME IF YOU CAN. C) DONATE ANY MEAT OUPONS YOU CAN SPARE. ENQUIRE AT YOUR LOCAL RATION BOARD. F. Provided, as he now is, with purpose nobler than self-interest, he sets himself to the task with loftier ambition and renewed energy. Eager he is for that conscious recognition within himself of having a definite and necessary part in the national welfare in its domestic and export ac- tivities. Zealous is he that his contribution may be worthy and adequate. By his side, ever ready to help make more effective the farmer's effort is the Canadian implement maker whose cooperation in furnishing the most efficient machines enables him to multiply his output and extend his activities so that today he produces more with Tess manpower and in the most economical manner yet attained. Never were the opportunities in agriculture more promising—never was the Canadian farmer better fitted or better equipped to make the most of those opportunities. in the future as in the past Massey -Harris will endeavour to develop, supply and service equipment that will make it easier for the farmer to fulfill his plans and aspirations. -*— grit( # _, lige j ,.A;,,,lf//%ft%i lr011017/111/160/11 110; 1/I6i ., .
