The Annual Meeting of the 13rus-
sels Belted Church was held on
Thursday evening, January 22, with
latT• ultendanee. A generous
supper was supplied and served by
members of the Woman's Assocta
t.i n at seven o'clock.
The business meeting followed a

Board of Managers, Messrs. M.
Shaw, A. elcTaggart and W. Hoy; to
the Trustee Board Mr. A. \McTaggart,
Auditors, Messrs, II. Sullivan and
Norman Hoover,
Reports from all organizations
' were rend and the various depart-
ments were pleased to report that all
allocations have been attained and
favouable balances on hand,
Mr. W. C, Ellacott reported for
the Session and the response was
made in a solo by Mr. Cecil Bateman,
Mr. Cousins reported for the Board
of Stewards; ;all obligations have
been met and the members of the
congregation are to be commended
for their geenrous response, Mrs.
Cousins reported that the Missionary
a4tlooa'tlon has been reacLed and the
money forwarded. The response for
the Sunday School was made in a
duet by Misses Phyllis Sullivan and
Ruth Thomas. Mrs, Ramn gave the
II/Heston tor the esion Band and
Sheila Porter gave a reading for
that -organization. Miss Margaret
Robinson reported for the Woman's
Missionary Society and Miss C.
Hingston and Mrs. Cousins con-
tributed a duet. Mrs, ,Tames Miensgave the Woman's Association report
and the response was made in a
Nano duet by Mrs. Lyle Brothers
and Mies Thelma Brothers. Special
mention was made of the tact that
the ladies have had the Church re-
decorated. Miss Margaret Robinson
was especially thanked for her part
in this work. Mrs. R, B. Cousins
rep:onted for our nem organization.
The Friendship Circle and Mrs. D.
Davison sang in response. Miss
Dorotbyy Dennis made a brief
report or the Young People's Union.
Miss Hingeton spoke for the choir,
the response was tirade iu a three
port harmony by Misses Thelma
Brothers Dorothy Dennis and Ruth
Wilson. The 'trustee's report. was
made by Mesas A. McTaggart and
R.. Cousins, Mrs. Lyle Brothers
assisted the organist as aceompa•tist
during the eventing.
Words of appreciation were spoken
to the minister and his family and
the meeting was closed with prayer
by Mr. E. Dennis.
At the meeting of the Official
Board that followed, Mr. Carl Hem-
ingway was a.ppo'mted Rewording
Steward, Me, R. B. Consinj, Treasur-
er, Ma's, Gaasins, Treasurer of the
M, & M., Mr. Walter Hunan,Representative to Presbytery and
Conference, The various working
coutrnittoes 08 the Church were also
appointed. The efficient work of
the Church Treasurer was rec-
ognised.
Melville Church
On Sunday morning the minister
preached 'on the eubje0t "The
Spin*of Jealousy" as exemplified in
,the case of Saul and David.
The choir rendered the anthem,
"Come Unto Me" by Bowles. The
evening service was withdrawn in

attend Rev. Ma. Oham's farewell
service at .Sit. John's Church of
England.

Special Duties
Firemen were assigned their
special duties at a meeting of the
local flea held in the library east
Friday evening also preentt at the
meeting were the reeve and the
fire committee from the elm:tell.
The need of a fire siren was dis-
cussed as was the purchasing of a
fire bruck and other equipment. The
reeve was instructed to enquire as
to prices etc.

School Dance
In spite of bbe inclement weather
a large number of guests attended
the annual dance of the Continuation
School held in the Town Hall here
on Friday night of last week.
The room was tastefully decorated
in the school colours with the
scnool crest effedtively used.
Dancing was. enjoyed to the music
of the Cliff Gordon orenestra of
Strabtord, whose novelty numbers
were recetbed with ent.msiasm,

death of John 3, Ball, occm'ed et his
residence, Queen St., St. Mary's, on
W.etlnestt'ay. Born at Uxbridge, he
was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Bali, and spent lies early life In Brae -

Ids brother, tete late Luther Ball, in
Wingibaan, but in 1908 he moved to

the east In 1981 and after making
his. home in Granton for a short

Dt'. Colquohoun was recently dis-
charged horn the R.C.A.F„ with the
rank of Wing Commander and 'was
chief medical officer with the

He caste to Aylmer and began the
practice of medicine here in Novem-
ber last, He was practising lo
Seaforth before enlisting in the
R.C.A,F. five and a half years ago.
Dr, Colquhoun has already made
many friends in Aylmer and district

Delivers Farewell Sermon
On Sunday evening at 7 p.m. Rev.
M. F. Oldham for the past three and
a half years reotor of St. John's
Anglican Church conducted his
farewell service when there was a
large congregation present. The
Prsbytarian and United Churche
withdrew their evening services for
the ocacsion and Rev. G. Milne and
Rev. H. C. Wilson were present with
many members of their congrega-
tions and assisted in the service.
Each brought a brief message of
appreciation foam their respective
churches of the work done by Rev.
M. F. Oldham in Brussels and
district.
Rev. Oldbau's farewerl text was
the last verse of the Bible Rev. 22.21
"The grace of Jnr Lord Jesus Christ
he with you all." Thu speaker thank-
ed die visiting clergy to: their kind
and thoughtful words, and thanked
the dembers of hes congregation for
co-operation in all spheres of
church work. Ile thanked all
people in Brtussels for their friend-
ship and kindness. He stressed
rigid adherence 1.0 God's laws as
the secret of success. He commended
thin to the grace of God and the
attributes of Truth, Strength, Power,
Faith, Mercy and Peace. He spoke
of the parish to which he is going
and of family associations with it fu
past and present days Mrs. R.
Hamilton was organist. ito. Laycoalt
was choir leader and Miss Carrie
Hiugs•ton was guest soloist. At the
conclusion of the service. Rev, M. F.
and Mrs. Oldham bid good bye to
