MARIE A Former Bruasellto "Wednesday, Tune 20th, at 4 a. 01. o'clock, William Richardson, sun of the late A1. and Mrs. Richardson, formerly of Brussels, and nephew of George and Mrs, Kerr, of this locality, met his death by corning in contact with live electric' wires, charged with 2,200 volts, white on duty as foreman at. the Northern Foundry Cos, shell works. Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Ile was on the night shift and it would appear that the power in the plant Mut been giving annoying trouble all night. Deceased was endeavoring to locate the cause and went outside to e`xaruiue the feed wires. After a few iuiuules he returned to the shop and called a Mr. Oronk, another employee, and said I have found the trouble, came outside until I show you. The men went out, about 4 in the morning, to a lane where the wires were con- ducted from the street into the mac- hine shop, and Richardson pointed to the defective wires on the crussarm of a pole, the light sky answering as a background in the detek enabling them to see it. The wires must have been burned off and stretched along the wee ground near them, far all of a sudden they received the charge from Wei', feet, both at the same time, either front the wires or char ged ground where the circuit crossed as it was a wet night. They stood this for a few seeolds but were finally thrown oft their feet. (h•nuk was ![untied but in some unknown way got clear, after receiving a burn on his left Maud and shoulder. Recovering co 0501O0s- ness he finally gained entrance to the shop and gave the alarm Some of the writ keen hastened tint and after 60me difficulty gut the power• turned off and freed Richardson. He was lying on his back holding one of the wires in^one hand, the latter beiug badly blunted, bat this was the only mark. Of course life had fled. A doctor. and Oornner 01(18 called im- mediately and the remains 'were ten- derly conveyed to the ulnrgue. Deceased was unmet pied and was 27 year's of age, being hon at Brussels, where he lived until about 32 years of ago. He made his home with his widowed mother, for whom he had dutifullycared and su. orted with pp the true love of 11 gond son to a worthy parent.
