ADDRESS AND PRESENTATION. -At the
conclusion of choir practice in Mel-
ville Presbyterian Church last Satur-
day evening Mrs. A. D. Grant, who will
shortly remove to Stratford with her
husband, was presented with a fine Cas-
serole accompanied by the following
address which was read by T. Arm-
strong, Miss Nellie Fox presenting the
gift :-Mrs A. D. Grant, DEAR FEL.
LOW CHOIR M1s,,tnalt.-It is with a deep
feeling of regret we learn you are leav-
ing our midst, As a choir we take tliis
opportunity of speaking a word of ap-
preciation to you for rendering faithful
and efficient service during the many
years you have formed one of our num-
her. As a member of the choir you have
ever been most faithful, cheerful willing-
ness at all times has characterized your
efforts in whatever capacity your as-
sistance has been required and your ex-
cellent musical talent with which you
are endowed, will be missed from our
choir. What is oltr loss w111 mOstsure-
iy be gain for the people of Stratford.
Though not separated far our relations
will be severed and thus we unite in
wishing you
God -speed in n Yone new
sphere of labor. May yours be a pleas-
ant and happy future. May you con-
tinue to serve God in song there as you
have so admirably here. Bespeaking
for those with whom you will associate
in S'ratford we believe that your musical
ability merits you a worthy place among
them. Your cheerful and gratuitous
service in Brussels will not easily be for-
gotten. As a token of these sentiments
and a little remembrance of pleasant as-
sociation in Melville choir we ask you
to accept this casserole. Signed on
behalf of the members ok the choir.
Mrs. Meadows, P. R. Mulheron (Lead-
er), Margaret C. Stewart, A. Strachan.
1'be recipient expressed her thanks for
the kind words and choice gift. She
bad many regrets at keying the choir
and church but hoped both would enjoy
prosperity and continue their good
work. Brussels would always be home
to her no matter where sbe might reside.
Choir Master Mulheron added a few
sentences as to the capability and agree-
ability with which Mrs. Grant had per-
formed her part and regretted her re-
moval but hoped she would enjoy life
in the Classic city.
Church Chimes
Last Friday evening at the union ser-
vice held in St. John's church Rev, Mr.
Page gave a moot appropriate address
NOM Lam. 1:12 "IS it nothing to you all
ve that pass by ?" He showed that evil
caused the death of Christ and it is the
evil that is cansing the great sacrifices at
present, therefore let us give tip sin.
Rev. Mr. Page spoke last Sunday
morning as his Easter message from
Luke 24 and 5. The power of the in-
dividual Christian comes from the risen
Lord. "If a man die shall he live
again," Job 14:14 was the evening text
in which he demonstrated the influence
of our beliefs concerning the hereafter
on our activities of the present. Suit-
able music was reudered.
