THERE ISA WRONG IMPRESSION
ABROAD,
Among some people there is an Im-
pression that it is the duty of the
Government to furnish funds to in-
duce men to enlist and to aid recruit-
ing.
'Phis is not correct, enlistment le
voluntary on the part of the individ-
ual and the Government's responsi-
bility begins when the man has en-
listed. From that moment the re-
cruit is taken care of by the Govern•
silent, provided with clothing, equip.
alcor, living allowance and pay ac-
cording to rank,
All over Canada, Recruiting leagues
have been organized by citizens,
meetings are being held, literature
distributed, in fact, an energetic
campaign to aid recruiting. City,
lows aud County Councils have made
liberal grants Recruiting leagues
for the perp a to •g
ose of assisting them
financially in their patriotic work.
The Government has asked and
authorized tho Military Onion of
A Fresh Supply
Currants, Raisins, Peels
and Spices.
