The Red Cross Sewing Circle which
met on Thursday was a decided suc-
cess. Many holiday visitors were pre-
sent. During the meeting as the ladies
sewed violin mucic was provided
by Messrs, Gorsali'tz and Jack Siena
mon ,1'7Lhe1. Lunch was served at the
close of meeting. Proceeds of flay
amounted to $18.40. Of this euro the
pupils of S. S. No. 1 donated 33 50. in
coppers to aid the work. The interest
shown by the men, revealed by their
presence, was greatly appreciated.

lst, a quiet but pretty wedding took
place at the home of Wm. Dark, when
his oldest daughter, Miss Mary, was
nnited in marriage to Henry. Howe,
only son of David Howe, Molesworth.

couple left Tuesday morning.for, their
home on the groom's fine farm in
Wallace township. • Their many
friends wish them long years of hap-
piuees and prosperity.
JAMES MOCAULAY DECEASED, -
Tuesday word was received by New -
eon McCauley, 6th line, that his fath-
er, the late James McCauley, of St.
Marys, had passed away. The old
gentleman had not been well for years
having suffered two strokes' of paraly-
sis. Funeral takes place Thursday

vive. Mr. McCauley had lived in St.
1Vlarya for past 14 years being a farm-

years of age.
WEDDING BELLS. - At 11 o'clock
Monday morning the residence of Jas.
and Mrs. Speir, lith line, was the scene
of festivity when their daughter, Miss
Carrie L., became the bride of W. Gar-
field Dunbar, a well known young
farmer near Ethel. As the Wedding
March was played by Miss Elsie Dun-
bar, the groom's sister, the principals
took their places in the parlor and
were united in holy wedlock by Rev.

1916, David Davidson, son of Thomas
and Mrs. Davidson, 11th Oon., was
united in marriage to Mise Ethel
Lydia, daughterof Frank and Mrs.
Rittwage, of "Hill Farm', Hiliaboro,
Sask. Rev. D. B. Millard, M. A., tied
the nuptial knot. Dave's many old
friends in this locality wish him and
his bride a long, happy, useful life
with no small share of prosperity.
Mr. Davidson has been in the West
for a number of years.
The Epworth League of Roe's
Church will give an entertainment in
the Township Hall at Ethel Thursday
evening. Jan. 13th. This is the out-
come of the recent contest held d in the
church by the members of the League
and will be given by the losing side iu
that contest. The audience, however,
will not be the general public, as

cardine, 47 years ago, and she 5
daughters (Mrs. J. G. Wallis, England
Mrs, W. F. Sttetton, Brussels ; Mrs.
Entylene Pringle, Denver, Ooh. ; Mrs,
L. A. Wright, Carberry, Man. ; and
Miss Gladye, Bruesehs) and a son (.W.

successful Patriotic Concert yet held
in Bluevale was given under the aus-
pices of the Women's Institute, in
Knox church, on New Years Eve,
Ohutoh was crowded by a holiday
audience to hear the lengthy program
provided and the prooeede, amounting
to $63.85, will enable the Women's In-
stitute to continue their Red Cross
work with renewed energy. The most
prominent feature of the evening was
a play entitled "The Spinsters' Con-
vention" which was very capably act-
ed by a large company in a way that
revealed careful training and faithful
preparation. The cast was as follows:
