A NUMBER of Agricultural Societies
passed resolutions condemning tbe cut-
ting off of a share of the annual grant to
as old and important an institution as
the Fall Fairs. The withdrawal of
finances in a number of cases will make
the "pinch" a little closer to keep the
Society alive. It was a short-sighted
policy on the part of the Minister of
Agriculture to allow it to le done

Annual meeting of East Huron
Agricultural Society was held Wed-
nesday afternoon of last week, in the
Council Chamber, Brussels. President
Leckie in the chair, with a fair at-
tendance.
A review of the year's work was
given by the President who com-
mented on the better than usual suc-
cess of the Fall Fair of 1914 and in

Minutes of last annual meeting
were read and passed.
The Treasurer presented the Finan-
cial Statement, showing balance on
band from 1918 of $244,75 and re-
ceipts for 1914 $2,286.75 with ex-
penditure of $2422.72 making a debit
balance $188.07 due to the purchase
of the 5 Short Horn bulls for the
Society, Report was adopted.

Treasurer was authorized to borrow
any mantes necessary from the

Malcolm Black was re -appointed

was held January llth. Members all
present but Mr. Stonehouse, he being
absent on account of sickness.
Having each taken the necessary
declaration of qualification and office,
Board was constituted, Reeve
presiding. Minutes of last meet-
ing read and confirmed.
Request from Sick Children's
Hospital asking donation in aid,
received and ordered to be filed.
Irwin—Currie—That Wm. Wight -
man be re -appointed Assessor, salary
as formerly and John Gillespie be
appointed as member of local Board
of Health. Carried.
J. W. Bone and J. S. Scott were re-
