the night, going to our empty home
Saturday. Not a crust of bread to
eat, but we told our troubles to the
baker and butcher and the grocery
man and they were very kind and
brought in all that was necessary for
a fair stall in life. So here we are
all safe and in good health and hop-
ing_and praying for Peace.
We were at the Indian Read farm
four Sundays. First Sunday was
wet and cold and we did not go out
but the other 8 we attended school and
public service. A. V'. Gerry is the
S. S. Superintendent. I was elected
to take the Bible Olass each Sunday
and one Sunday the minister was not
there so I gave a talk, the best I
could. The schoolhouse is 6 miles
from the "Head" and most of those
who go to the school house would
have to drive 7 and 8 miles to church.
They don't go very often and the
children cannot go so far so they
have school every Sunday and preach-
ing every second Sunday and nearly
all the congregation stop for school
and take their children home.
I have not space for any Fort
