BURGESS. -There passed away at the family residence, corner of Victoria .and Francis streets, Wingham, on Sunday last, Siiss Annie Mary Burgess, second daughter of the late Henry Burgess. Deceased went to Wingham with father's family ix years ago from Brussels and has resided there ever since. She took ill about 6 mouths ago and despite all that could be done by medical aid she succumbed to the deadly disease, She leaves one broth- er, Robert, of Wiugham, and four sis- ters, Mrs, Roy Finch and Mrs. James White, of Toronto, and Georgie and Lizzie at home to mourn her loss, De- ceased was a lite long member of the Church of England and bore her suffer- ings with patience and Christian forti- tude. The funeral took place on Wednesday and the remains were interred in the family plot in Brussels cemetery. GOLDEN WEDDING, -5o years ago last Sunday, Elijah and Mrs. Jackliu joined hand and heart in a matrimonial alliance in St, john's church, Smith Falls, Ont., Rev, Mr. Williams Y:eing the officiating minister. To commemorate the event 45 relatives and friends assembled at their home, Thomas street, Brussels, Monday evening when a good time was enjoyed.
