RESOLUTION OF SYMPATHY. -
TO MRS. THOS. STRACHAN SR, AND
FAMILY. -We, the members of Session
of Melville church extend to you our
hearty sympathy in your recent bereave-
ment and our prayer is that by the
grace of God it may be made a blessing
to von. The late Thos. Strachan, an
Enler for more than half a century, was
a most worthy servant of his Master,
earnest in the faith of Christ, true to
the word which is 'asharper than any
two-edged sword," devoted to the work
of the Christian church, spending much
time in Sunday Sobool work in teaching
and training the young oE this com-
munity, giving largely to the support
of the church and faithful in every
good work that makes for righteous-
ness. As an Elder lie was ever wise in
counsel and faithful in the discharge of
his duties and as a Christian man he
served his Lord well so that at the close
of life he could say with St. Paul "I
have fought a good fight. I have fiuish-
ed my course, I have kept the faith,
henceforth there is laid up for me a
crown of righteousness." In behalf of
the Session.
