DOWN To BURINEss AGAIN,—Under
the management of Robert '1'huell, a
former proprietor, the electric light
plant was got into operation on Tuesday
evening and it is to be hoped will shed
its friendly light without variation for
many a night to come. Jas Sharpe,
who holds a lucrative position in
Chicago and is owner of the utility here,
is expected in Brussels shnrtly when
some new arrangement may be made as
to the future. Some negotiating is in
progress now we understand. The
town was very dismal looking In the
absence of the light on the streets, busi-
ness places, churches and residences,

day night j, C, Tuck came down street
feeling as well as usual and on arrival
01 the night mail got his daily paper and
started hutne, He and F &urchin were
together and When near Jas. 5bnrrie's
residence Mr. Tuck took a severe pain
in his heart which he said would be
the death of him. Mr, Burchill went to
the sick man's help but he passed away
almost instantly. It was a great shock
to his sister, Mrs. D, Robb, with whom
he made his home, and to the com-
munity at large. Mr. 'Puck was well
known and was the son of the late Jacob
ruck, formerly of Cr0nbrook. Mr.
'Puck was in his 65th year. The date of
the funeral was not set when Tit Pose'
went to press The subject of this
notice had never married.
GEORGE DENVER 9R, --Another of the
arty settlers of Morniugton passed a-
rty at the home of A. D. Anticnap of
Drnmbo, on Thursday, Dec, 4, in the
person of George Denyer. Mr.
Denyer was a native of Midrlurst,
Sussex, England. Before coming to
Canada he married Miss Mary Autic-
ap who predeceased him about to
years. Be first settled in Bien
helm township, where he remained a
year moving to Mot•nington in x855 in
which township he resided until 7
years ago when he went to Drnmbo,
where he resided ever since. When
he went to Mornington it was then ail
dense bush, 2 shanties stood in Milver-
ton, then knotvu as West's.Corners.
3 sons and 3 daughters survive Mr,
Denyer, namely James and Edward,
Morniugton ; George, Wingham Mrs.
J. L. Rae Mrs, Wm, Atkin, I3nrling
ton, and Mrs. Aaron Posliff, Wingham,
He was the grandfather Of et children
Mr. Denyer was a man of a retiring dis-
positioa but was held in very high est
teem, In religion he was a member
of the Church of England and in poli,
tics was a Conservative. The funeral

FATAL ACCIDENT.—A shocking fatali-
ty occurred In Harrison about 5 o'clock
ou Monday evening of last week when
Norman T. Kearns, insp •ator of 'peones
to the employ of the Bell Telephone Co.
was arranging a telephone connection
and was seated on a car attached to a
cable stretching from a pole at the corn-
er of Taylor's Drug store diagonally
across Elora street to another pole op
posite the Royal Hotel, The car was
about midway on the cattle and about 25
feet above the street, when by some
means .he occupant of the car came in
contact with a live electric light wire
and his body was precipitated to the
hard roadway beneath headforemost, the
impact fracturing the skull, He was
still alive when picked up, but died al-
most instantly A Dr was immediately
summoned, but finding the case beyond
human aid, in his capacity of Coronet
took the necessary proceedings for hold
i.ng an inquest. A jury was empanuel-
led and viewed the body, which was in
a room in the Royal Hotel, after which
an adjournment was made until Wed-
nesday evening of last week. In the
meantime 2 other doctors held a post-
mortem
