BANQUET TO YOUNG MEN,- A cent plimentary Banquet was tendered to the young men ot the Methodist church, in the school room, last Friday even ing which was marked by success in every particular. Miss Martha Smith, Mrs. Parker and Mrs. A. j. Lowry composed the recepti-u committee and welcomed the young people and direct- ed them to their respective dressing rooms. About 8 o'clock 40 guests, ac- cotnpanied by their ladies, sat down to very nee ly spread tables, the Ladies' Aid of the church being the caterers, who did their part in a very efficient and courteous manner. The bill of fere was A 1 consisting of oysters, celery olives, pickles, ham, bread and butter. crushed potatoes, cabbage, beet and jelly salads, cakes, wafers, apples, nuts, canny, tea, coffee, ice cream, etc., sery ed in the best style. Following closely atter carne a program of touts, F. H Gilroy filling the post of toast -master in A 1 etyle and guiding it like a veteran. 'rhe list included "Our King and Country," introduced by Will Hoover and responded to by Fred, Wood ; patriotic solo, Mr, Gilroy ; "Our church," proposed by Chester Arm- strong and replied to by W. H. Kerr ; "Our Sunday School" was proposed bt. Ernie Plum and Frank Gerry with response ey F, H. Gilroy ; humorous reading by Wilfrid Lott ; "Our Pastor," proposed by W. J McCracken, and Rev, D.
