KILLED AT RIPLEY - Walter Green,
25 years old, brakeman, of Palmerston,
met with a fatal accident at Ripley last
Saturday afternoon wheu he lost an
arm and leg He was rushed on a

Huron Regiment goes to camp at
Goderich on Monday. June 16th for is
days. Brussels boys who were out last
year came borne delighted with the
their holiday and all enthusiastic over
the pleasant time they had enjoyed,
There ought to be a much larger num-
ber am out this year ee camp is a very
pleasant one and the Huron Regiment
enjoys the reputation of being perhaps
the best Regiment in the District
Lieut R. R. Sloan will be in command
of the local Company this year and as
he is a most enthusiastic and considerate
officer we hope the village of Brussels
will turn out a company equal to the
best in the Regiment. Pay is Much
better then in the older days when the
County Council 'clid not act so gener
ously as bow, hence a private gets $1.t5
per day with toe extra for those .' ho

information from Sergt. M. H. Lake,

copies of the circulars are being dis-
tributed, which is made up in pamphlet
form and touches Imperial events der-
ing tile past year. Interesting chapters
mive been prepared upon Nigera. the
Imperial flag, the Livinestone centenary
and the death of Captain Scott in the
Antarctic.
GOING To THE MINING CAMPS. -Ar..
rangements have been concluded for an
excursion of representative newspaper
editors and publishers to the mining
camps of Porcupine and Cobalt im-
mediately after the 55th annual meeting
of the Canadian Press Association,
which will be held in Toronto on June
3 and 4. I'he excersien will be under
the auspices of the Canadian Press
Association, and one of the series held
annually 'for the purpose of enabling
the press men of Cauada to see at first
hand the development of various
sections of the Dominion. 'rhe press
parts will make the trip in a special
train of Pullmans which will leave
Toronto at 7 3o p, in. on June 4. The
following day will be divided between a
sail on Lake Ternagami and tile in-
spection of the silver mines at Cobalt
as guests of the Mine Owners' Asso-
ciation of that city. The second day
will be spent among the gold camps of
Porcupine district as guests of the
management of the Dome and Hollinger
mines. 'rhe morning of the third day
will be spent at Algonquin Park, where
the party will divide, themembers from
Eastern Ontario. Quebec and the
Maritime Provinces going East from
that point, while the remainder of the
party will return to Toronto, arriving
there at 7 p.

Methodist church, Tuesdaa evening

Class. The time was pleasantly passed

strangers within our gates," selections
on gramophone. rerrytrksty the teacher
of the class (F H Gilroy) and a short
address by B Gerry, who has been the
class President. He resigned owing to
intended removal from town. Mr
Gerry has served the school in many
capacities for the past s years and was
always a faithful and willing worker.
Lunch and ice cream were served before
the closing hymn and prayer.
