R. Sloan will be in command of the local Company this year and as he is a most enthusiastic and considerate officer we hope the village of Brussels will turn out a company equal to the best in the Regiment. GOING To THE MINING CAMPS. -Ar.. rangements have been concluded for an excursion of representative newspaper editors and publishers to the mining camps of Porcupine and Cobalt im- mediately after the 55th annual meeting of the Canadian Press Association, which will be held in Toronto on June 3 and 4. I'he excersien will be under the auspices of the Canadian Press Association, and one of the series held annually 'for the purpose of enabling the press men of Cauada to see at first hand the development of various sections of the Dominion. 'rhe press parts will make the trip in a special train of Pullmans which will leave Toronto at 7 3o p, in. on June 4. The following day will be divided between a sail on Lake Ternagami and tile in- spection of the silver mines at Cobalt as guests of the Mine Owners' Asso- ciation of that city. The second day will be spent among the gold camps of Porcupine district as guests of the management of the Dome and Hollinger mines. 'rhe morning of the third day will be spent at Algonquin Park, where the party will divide, themembers from Eastern Ontario. Quebec and the Maritime Provinces going East from that point, while the remainder of the party will return to Toronto, arriving there at 7 p.
