BLOOD POISONING,—The many friends
of Rev, E. G. Powell• pastor of the
Main street Methodist church, Exeter,
formerly of Brussels, will .regret to learn
that he is laid up with blood poison
which is causing him considerable pain.
Some time ago he was struck in the
leg just below the knee with a pitch
fork and for several weeks it has given
flim much trouble. Although not in
condition for his work Mr. Powell has
undertaken his pastoral duties and in
addition has been very active in the
Local Option campaign. Atter some of
the services he has had to stake his way
to his room m1 his hands and knees, bel
this was concealed from Itis congrega-
tion. He conducted services in Main
Street church Sunday morning, 24th.

weeks from paralysis, AL's Jt111(1
Reis, 81',. of Ellice, departed this life
on Monday evening of last week.
Mrs. Bels, whose maiden name was
Mary Seita, was bran iii North East -
hope over 04 years ago. Ott January
1st, 1870, she married Mr. Reis who
survives her, The union was blessed
with a family of five sons and one
daughter, viz Geo., John and Charles,
of Ellice ; Conrad, of Wroxeter ; and
Henry, of Milverton ; and [Vire. John
Becker, sr., of Ellice. The funeral
took place at the Moserville Lutheran
cemetery Thursday and the seevi885
was cnedurted by Rev. A. Blunck.
The pallbearers were her five sous
and eon -in-law.
