The annual meeting of the Presby
terian church was postponed until
Tuesday of next week.
Last Tnnsrlay afternoon the regular
meeting of Belgrave Women's Insti-
tute was held at the Moine of Mrs.
David Sproat. There was a large at-
tendance and a profitable time. The
report given by Mrs, Anderson of In-
stitute work in New Ontario and of
the McDonald Institute, at Guelph, in
rural districts in demunhti aliens and
molting, was well done and proved
that it pays to attend these gather-
ings. L) response to the Roll Call
recipes and interchange of experiences
were given. Nextmeeting will be
held at the home of Miss Bengough on
February 19th, of which farther notice

hand very painfully hurt and lost
several fingers is doing as well as can
be expected.
Mrs. W. D. Pringle has received
word 00 the death of her mother, Mrs.
McTaggart, who died at her home in
13Joomfontein, On t., 915. McTaggart
had -been very seriously ill for some
days, and her death was not unexpect-
ed.
There was a number of the Sunday
School pupils who attended the sic-
amination iu the Baptist choral Sun-
clay. Inthe evening Rev. G. V.
Collins, preached to large congrega-

given by the chair under the direction
of Professor J. H. Christie; was much

Friday, John McLeod, a well known
resident of Ethel, paid nature's debt
after a severe illness. He was 57
years, 5 months and 27 days old and
was an industrious. straightforward
man. Mr. McLeod is survived by his
wife, two daughters, (Mrs. John
Story and Miss Kate.) and a son,
(Edwin, at home.) Tuberculosis was
the cause of death. Funeral service
was held in the Presbyterian church

Annual Meotina•
The annual meeting of East Huron
Agricultural Societ was held in the
Society
Council Chamber on Wednesday
afternoon of this week. Presideut
Leckie in the chair.
Minutes of last meeting read and
passed.
Avditors' report showed payment of
prizes for 1911 to be 3644.00 despite the
rain, out of 3800.00, offered, 3400 had
to be borrowed to pay prize list, owing
to failure of gate receipts, the latter
only figuring 335. The Wet Weather
Insurance offered by the Govetimeut
to Societies who meet with this handi-
cap have granted 3247.00 on Lhe basis
of gate receipts of 3 ptevions years, so
that the Society will not be so badly
off as was at one time feared. Band
cost $41 ; Japanese acrobats, 5200
Concert troupe for two evenings,
$135 00 ; ludges, $22 ; Standing Field
Crop, 350. There are 74 members
carried over to 1912.
It was decided not to hold Spring
Fairs either Seed or Stock. 'Three
expert Judges will be asked fur next
Fall Show. It was agreed to take
part in the Standing Field Crop.
