Paul Kim ey, has reseed away at the
age of 95 years, Mr Kinney moved
to McKillop frniu Hamilton in the
Spring of 1865, settling on a bush

The remains of Mrs. A. McLean,
widow re' Rose Dr. McLean, who for
over 40 years wns the minister of St.
Andrew's Presbyterian church here,
were brought to Blyth and funeral
was hr ld 'net Thursday. The funeral
service held in thechnrch over which
her late husband for sn many years
exercised the articling hand and in rhe
building up of which they had both
played an outstanding par 1. wee ne-
t ended by a large ansaber of citizens,
Dr. McLean resigned the ohne gehere
about 20 yenta agn and a few year's
later died. Surviving Mee. McLean
are two sons and three daughters,
one of the sons being a minister and
all three daughter's being wives of
ministers, two of them having mar-

The 100 -acre' ferns of Albert V.
Foerster, Lot 14, Con. 12. has been
purchased by Sylvester Osborne, who
takes possession ou Jan. 20th. Mr.
Foerster will take a well earned rest
in hope of building up his health 'and
will hold a clearing auction sale on
Thursday, Jan. 14th. Watch for his
sale list which will appear next week.
Friends of James T. and Mrs. Pear-
son offer sincere' sympathy in the loss
of their little: daughter, Ina Elizabeth
aged 5 years, 4 months and 4 days,
who died last Wednesday following
an operation for appendicitis. The
funeral was held from the parental
home on Friday afternoon and inter-
ment was made in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, Ethel. Rev. Mr. Guest
conducted the service..

lett. widow of the late Wm. Annett,
passed away at the home of her son,
Percy, Lor 35, Cmi, 6, Grey, on Thurs-
day, Dec, 3rd, 1925, at the age of 01
years, 10 rnorithe and 23 days. Tbe
deceased was boon in Cornwall, Eng-
land, arid at the ago of two years,
Meng with her parents, came to Can-
ada and settled in the Township of
Fullerton, later moving to Elora'
Township, where in the year 1887 she
was united in marriage to het' .late
husband, who predeceased her six
year's ago. About 3S yeate ago, she
urovsd to the fern where she resided
till the thne. of her death. The de-
ceased leaves to mourn, het Ings. four

When the job of gravelling is
finished on the 14th Concession, con-
tinuing from the top of the hill, south
through what is known as the Sinclair
swamp, where a new grade was made
last fall through the said swamp,
when the ratepayers received 100 per
cent or more for every dollar spent
on the grade. Some were for remov-
ing the under corduroy roadway of
pine and cedar logs laid there some
sixty or seventy years ago. These
logs are still in a wonderful state of

Tbe sequel to a liquor cggse which
was heard before Magistrate Reid
here a short time ago, came last week,
when Arto Delve and "Scotty" East-
on were committed for trial on a
charge of perjury at the previous
hearing, and Thorne Baker was sim-
ilarly committed on a' charge of in•
oitiug the 'other two to give Eales,
evidence. They will be tried at: the
next court of competent jurisdiction,
Baker electing trial by jury. Bail
was given for 84,000 in each of the
three cases.

A quiet wedding took place nn
Wednesday, Dec. lath, at the manse,
Wingham, when Flora Edna, daugh-
ter of Robt, and MPs. Earl, Gorrie, be-
came the bride of Charles Finlay, son
of the late Charles and Mrs. Finlay,
Howick, Rev. Dr. Perrie officiating.
The bride looked charming in a gown
ofpoudre blue satin crepe, with cut.
velvet trimmings. They were at-
tended by Miss Emmeline Earl, sister
of the bride, and Harold Gowdy. Aft-
terithe ceremony, the bridal party
went to the home of the bride's par-
ents 'where a sum:in:ous wedding
dinner was served. The happy coupe
will reside nn the groom's farm in
Howirk, where they will have the
best wishes of a hast of friends.

he was taken to the hospital in the
hopes that an operation would save
his life, but it was unsuccessful and he
passed away Tuesday night. News of
illness was sent to members of his

ter and brother hurried to his bedside
but were too late to see him alive.
Jim, as he was familiarly called, was
born ort the 12th con. of alcKillnp
township, being the second eon of the
late Seines and Mrs, Davidson, and
was in his 49th year. He received his

Melville Presbyterian Church
Rev. D. E; McDonald, a Missionary
from India, bad charge of the services
in Melville church last Sabbath. At
the morning service Mr. McDonald
described conditions in. India to -day
and showed by illustrations fewest
what he had seen that the gospel of
Jesue Christ has the power to trans-.
form the lives of the people of India.
At the evening service Mr, McDonald
dealt with those things that hinder
the spread of the Gospel in India, the
chief among those being the caste sys-
tem'which forbids men of a higher
caste having any dealings with mer
of lower caste. The one hopefulfeat-
ure, as Mr. McDonald sees it, is the
way in which the lower caste people
are accepting Christ. In the Sabbath

and customs of the people. The ser-
vices of Mr. McDonald vete greatly
enjoyed by all,
St. John's Church
Tbe annual Vestry Meeting 'of tit•
John's Church will be held in the
thnrch basement on Wednesday even-
ing, 30th inst., at S o'clock.
On Christmas day there will be the
celebration of the Holy Communion
in St. John's Church at 10 a. in., and
the proper Christmas services will be
bald next Sunday, both morning and
evening. Special music will be ren
dered by the choir. The anthems
will be "Arise, Shine," by Simper,
and "Christians Awake" by Launder,
East for over 20 years. Walter and
Mrs. Davidson visited at his home a
few weeks before news came of his
death and left hint in appal entlythe
best of health.

Once more the holiday season rolls

Continue Evidence
Wingham, Dec. 17. --Harry ration,
who was arrested last Sunday by
Provincial Officers Whitesidos and
Phippen on tt charge of inflect nt as-
sault on a 15 year old girl living on
the Bluovale road, about a mile east
of Wingham, appeared to -day before
Magistrate Reid, of Goderich. Ow-
ing, however, to the fact that the
young girl, tine alleged victim, was
overcome by nervousness and unable
to proceed any further to -day with
her evidence. the bearing was ad-
juo'ned for right clays.
The public was 'excluded from the
court 'during the hearing to -day. It.
Vanstona, of Wingham, appeared for
the ncc•ueed, while Crown Attorney
Seeger, of Goderich, prosecuted. The
charge was laid by the father of the

Goderich, Dec. 20. -Following the
order of Justice Wright that Judge
Lewis tear off the counterfoils and
count 342 ballots disallowed in the
North Huron Federal, election, Judge
Lewis yesterday made an appoint-
ment for Wednesday at 11.35 am.
