The Marriage Act.
Two amendments have been made
to this Act which are of interest to
those municipal clerks who are issuers
of marriage licenses. The first is
that thea applicant for a lien must
pp license
produce and file with the issuer a copy
of the birth certificate of the other
party to the marriage, or an affidavit
made by such other party or by some
person being a member of his or her
family and having a personal know-
ledge of the facts, stating the age,
date, and place of birth of the other
party., This applies to all persons of
whatever age, though it is hard to
understand the necessity of it in the
case of persons of mature age. The
second amendment provides that 3
clear days shall elapse, between the
issue of a license and the solemniza-
tion of the marriage.
