Danger From Bad Roots. - The
danger of retaining root -filled devita-
lized teeth, and depending upon X-
ray w
to shove
infection, was the sub-
.ieC 0
t fan address before
a clinic in
Toronto on Thursday morning last by
Dr. Price, who declared that he had
almost given up hope for the public
in many communities until the pres-
ent generation of dentists dies otT.
Dentists had not yet begun to realize
that they were responsible for many
victims of heart trouble by allowing
them to retain breeding places for
the streptococci organism in devita-
lized, root -filled teeth. He was asked
by a member if he were 100 per rent
for teeth extraction, and replied
that
when people had passed' the age of
40 there might be focal infections in
Lhe joints and sinuses which were ad-
ded causes. It was not always then.
so important to remove their teeth
as it was those of young boys and
girls to save them from heart and
other diseases. He illustrated by lan-
tern slides many eases where children
and adults had made many remark-
able recoveries from heart and rheu-
matic diseases, even from insanity,
Following the removal of diseased
teeth.
