Pidgeon seems to be the almost unanimous 'choice for Moderator of the next and last General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. When the next Assembly 'concludes its labors the Presbyterian church passes into the United Church of Can- ada, so that the pastor. of Bloor Street Church, Toronto, recognized as an out standing leader in the unionist ranks, will have the distinction of being the last Moderator of the church in the Dominion. As nearly as anything can be certain Dr. Pidgeon seems certain of election to the chair. The drift of sentiment in his direction is indicated by the fact ,that a number of Presbyteries have nominated him for the post of. honor. Toonto is one of them, fara- way Honan is another and Owen Sound is the latest.
