Mrs. D. C. MacGregor, known
to the reading Canadian public as
Marion Keith, the authoress of
score of clever
books and to the
people of Lon-
don as the Lady
off the Manse.
Mrs. MacGre-
gor was before
her marriage Miss
Mary Estllzer Mil-
er and was burn at Rugby, County
of Simcoe, Ont. She was a daught
er of John Midler, Perth, Ont., and
Mary Molar', of Camay Islay Scot-
land. She was educated in the, ele-
mentary schools and the Oriitva
High School and from her earl.est
years took a deep interest in li ;-
ature and showed promise as a
writer.
Her first book, "Duncan Polite"
was published in 1905, and b-1
warm was the welcome it received
that "Marion' Kieth" was at once
accorded a place in the realm of
Canadian authors, This first at-
tempt was followed by "The Sil-
ver Maple" in 4906; "Treasure
Valley" in 1908; "L'ixabeth of the
Dale" in 1940; "The Black -Beard-
ed Barbarian" in 1912; "The End
of the Rainbow" in 1913; "1n
Orchard Glen" in 1918, and it is
announced on good` authority that
another book Hann her facile pen
will make its appearance shortly.
In addition to this cplend'd ar•
ray of books Mrs. McGregor has
been a constant contributor to
Imagizlnes and 'elluludh publications
for she has a seemingly lnexh Lust-
able fount of imagination. She gels
