BRUSSELS WON — Palmerston Ladies' Softball Team motored to Brussels on August 29th and played a game with Brussels Sprouts It was a well played match and resulted in a score of 14 to in favor of the borne team. Umpires were Ted McCrae for Palmerston and Ross McKay for Brussels. At the close of the match the visitors were served lunch in the Public Library Board room when a fine social time was enjoyed. The Post congratulates Druggist Glen Armstrong on the arrival of a son and heir and hopes he may prove a great blessing to the home. Mother and son are doing well. Mrs. Dark has been out there tor several months on account of the ness of Mrs. Phillips, a daughter, who is much improved in health now. Mr. Dark expects to be back to town in the course 01 a month. Th e local Soft• ball experts were defeated by Moorefield ball tossers by a score of 16 to 5, Our girls gave the winners a lively chase but were minus tI at the close of the' play, Brussels was rattled somewhat by the odd delivery of the pitcher, Miss Wilson, who was a good cue, 4 coats of whitewash were admin- istered by Moorefield, who received 3 in return. The rebuilding of Brussels Methodist church proceeds, slow but sere. Brick work is done, carpentering is well ad• canoed, new fir ceiling is in and the painters' work on it finished. Lathing and plastering comes next, followed up by the new inclined floor, Building Committee is dealing with the question of leaded windows this week. When the work is all finished it will be pleas- ing to most folk. 2 new furnaces have arrived and the wiring for Hydro is ready for the connections. The new seating equipment is being considered and also the question of an organ for the choir to replace the one desttoved by the fire In tbe meantime the church ser- vices are being held in the Lecture Room of the church.
